Let's get ready to read

Starfall.com is a free web which purpose it is to motivate children to read with phonics. Their systematic phonics approach, in conjunction with phonemic awareness practice is perfect for preschool, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, special education, homeschool, and English language development (ELD, ELL, ESL). Starfall is an educational alternative to other entertainment choices for children.

San Cristobal full of yellow daffodils in full bloom

This week we made a lot of daffodils to celebrate St David's day. We learnt something about this saint and his country WALES.

Daffodils, sometimes called Jonquils or Narcissus, are a species of the genus Narcissusone, and are one of the first signs of color in the garden after a long winter.

3rd and 4rd graders made this beautiful flowers:

We drew some pictures related to the topic.

Some of them are these:

And a word search too!!

The little ones (5 years old class) made their daffodil as well.

JOBS!!!

Hi there!!!

Let's see this video with the new vocabulary of the unit 5. The jobs.

Children's music artist, Eric Herman, sings an incredibly cute song all about elephants... sort of... The video was created by him, his wife and his 3 year-old daughter.

Enjoy it!

I love this song. And you?

HELLO WORLD!!

WELCOME EVERYONE!!

My name is Alicia Cortés and I am an English teacher who works in San Cristobal School.

Many parents have asked me how they can help their children to learn English from their homes, that's why I've decided to create this blog. Here, my 5 years old students could improve their English proficiency by watching videos, playing games, listening songs... with their parents' help.

I hope my blog will provide you with worthy and enjoyable activities and you will find them interesting enough to generate responses. Parents are welcome to leave any comment that they wish in order to improve and enrich this site.

This experience is also shared with primary students in a blog called http: // pinklesweet.wordpress.com/which it is turning out to be very profitable for them.

Best wishes

Till next time!

Alicia Cortés :-)
